AHA! I found the link! Etsy Rock Stars ROCKIN Holiday sales event.

So this year for the holidays sever Etsians and I have created a sale event. Its big, its bad ass, and you should really check it out or you are sucky.

The link is to the group leaders blog post about each individual shop that is participating in the sales event. I think most of the sales last up through Cyber Monday, then they are done. So you should hop on top of these and buy while we have em.

Send us an email and pictures and we can create a custom piece just for you. Prices will vary depending on how much you want done!

We also can develop a completely custom vase for you. We have done two custom jars to be used for lotions that had a 70s hippy theme, as well as jars for ovarian cancer awareness. The options are endless, just shoot us an email at calicopalaceshop@gmail.com

Dont forget our sales going on in our etsy shop!!!

To see sales from some of my kick ass friends on etsy click the "etsy rock stars" link on the side of this blog.

First craft show, Black Friday sales, and life

So we had our first craft show this past weekend in Powhatan. We didnt sell much, but we learned a lot about how to set up booths! We also passed out a ton of business cards so that people could order off our website, apparently not taking credit cards is bad. (Its a craft show I thought people would know cash) So anyway we ordered a "Square" which will make it possible for us to accept credit cards by swiping them directly into our Iphones. Pretty darn nifty if you ask me.

Here is info on the Square: https://squareup.com/

This week kicks off our first Holiday sale. We have A TON of sales, and an entire section of 21 items listed on sale. Some items are up to half off their original price So come check check it out.

I am moving to a bigger house on the 30th of this month, then another craft show on the 3rd of December. So I am kinda crazy chicken right now. But hey I can handle presssure (not).
So what are ya'lls holiday plans?

Smooches to all,

Oh crap what did we just do?

So in our effort to promote our products and sell, we just signed up for a craft show in the 19th. We are in no way ready for said craft show!!! So I might be running around like a chicken with my head cut off for the next week. The kicker is, I will be out of town this weekend, and mom is watching my two girls! So there goes creating time. I have no idea how we are going to pull this one off, but I am pretty sure we are just going to wing it and see how it goes.
Even bigger kicker... I cant go to the craft show either since my hubs already took this coming weekend off. There is no way I can go, so Mom and Crystal will by flying with out me...flying like chickens with their heads cut off of course.

Also in other news Mom's Jewelry is being featured at Crossroads Art Center art show on the 18th of this month. Check out the website, Mom isnt up on it yet but should be later this week.

Nicole from Calico Palace lists The Best Asian Horror Flicks

So I know its past Halloween when everyone loves to watch horror films, but I think this list is required. Here are a few of my favorite Asian horror flicks. This is a huge hobby of mine, I watch and judge these movies at a constant rate. I honestly could not tell you how many Asian horror films I have watched, and my friends all say I am ruined for American horror after these gems. So Here are my favorites in no particular order.

Premonition (The original Japanese not the American crap):
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419280/

Suicide Club is a great social commentary on Japanese culture. I have to say it is my favorite on this list. Plus Dir en Grey is in it.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0312843/

Ju on the Grudge.  If you have seen "The Grudge" staring Sarah Michelle Gellar well, that is a  very cheap knock off. I am a hard scare, and this one made me shiver in my  pansy red booties.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364385/

Audition: I quite literally screamed at certain parts of this movie. My husband and I had to hide our eyes in each others chests a couple times just to get through it.That to me gives it a big star.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/

Dumplings: The whole premise behind this movie is so messed up that it has to be included.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472458/
Tale of Two Sisters: Again this one has been American re-made, and again the American version is pale in comparison. Please watch originals rather than remakes, the remakes are just poo.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365376/

Moon child: Not really horror, but when ever I make a movie list it has to be included. It has Hyde...and Gackt enough said. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365376/

I know I have more but those are my favorites! I am pretty sure if I asked my husband he would argue with me, but this is MY list.

Crossroads Art Center- Our new home

As of today, Penny is an artist in residence at Crossroads Art Center in Richmond,VA!!! We are so excited about our new venue. I can honestly say that we are all feeling like a million bucks today. After going through a panel of judges we were accepted, and got to set up our display today. Penny and Nicole raced over as fast as our gimpy legs would carry us to set up our case this morning. Many silly antics, and jokes about "artiest" were thrown around. Here are some pictures of us setting up, our display, and some pieces featured.
